Welcome to
Athletics4Kids’ Inspiration Station
Meet our athletes, families, local coaches, and other champions that are the beating heart of our Athletics4Kids community.
Meet Victoria: Athlete of the Month
This month, Athletics4Kids is proud to introduce Victoria, a skilled cheerleader and dancer based in Vancouver—as November’s Athlete of the Month. She only started cheerleading last year when she was accepted into the program, and has been training ever since.
Meet Edward: Athlete of the Month
Edward is A4K’s talented, multi-sport athlete, learning skills in hockey, tennis, and baseball. He started with tennis at age 7, then began baseball and hockey when he was 8 years old. Although learning different kinds of sports can be hard, Edward keeps his head up as he gets to play with different players and friends, while learning and improving through help from his coaches and teammates.
Meet Joey: Athlete of the Month
Joey is A4K’s rising star in baseball. At just 5 & a half years old, he has already been playing baseball for over 2 years! His favourite things about baseball is learning how to hit balls with the bat and running to all the bases. Right now, he’s learning how to pitch and he can’t wait to become a stronger pitcher with more practice and training from his coaches.
Meet Joelle: Athlete of the Month
Gymnastics isn't just about physical activity for Joelle; it's a source of joy, challenge, and camaraderie. From the rush of competition to the sense of accomplishment with each new skill mastered, Joelle finds fulfillment in every aspect of the sport. And thanks to A4K, she's been able to fully immerse herself in this passion, staying active, fit, and healthy along the way. Joelle's mother shared that she has developed invaluable skills such as discipline, time management, and teamwork.
Meet Adam: Athlete of the Month
Thanks to the support of A4K and the wider community, Adam and his sister were able to immerse themselves in the world of martial arts. Their mother has observed that this endeavor has not only improved their physical well-being but has instilled invaluable life lessons, including teamwork and perseverance.
Meet Eden: Athlete of the Month
For Eden, the water is a place of calm. She has ADHD and swimming has helped her regulate the levels of hyperactivity, calms her mind and allows her to focus better.
Meet Ryan: Athlete of the Month
Ryan has been playing baseball for six years. He has made a lot of great memories including playing a game in snow, hitting a home run, and pitching a seven-inning winning game.
Meet Ahana: Athlete of the Month
Ahana’s mother shares that Athletics4Kids has allowed her children to take part in both martial arts and soccer. Without this support, they would have to choose, and they love both of them. “It gave me such relief as I did not want to tell them they had to quit - thank you.”
Meet Harnoor: Athlete of the Month
“Not only is this a physical exercise that helps her with strength, balance, and flexibility, but also, mental health,” explains her mother. “Harnoor has this mental toughness, she's resilient and emotionally intelligent, which I am so proud of. Going to the classes every week, she's also strengthened some social skills and a feeling of belongingness in the community.”
